Being one of the fastest growing countries in the world, and a member of Next Eleven, Bangladesh is attracting more attention and interest from investors overseas.

The country is becoming on par with India in terms of economic rise, something that will naturally gain the real estate industry long term.

If you plan to buy property in Bangladesh you’ll find a number of local developers in Bangladesh, but rarely exhaustive and summarized information about them.

Therefore, I’ve written this article where I present some of the top developers in Bangladesh.

1. Building technology and ideas Ltd.

Building Technology and Ideas Ltd., also known as BTI, is one of the leading and biggest real estate developers in Bangladesh. The company established in 1984, at a time when there were only two other real estate developers in the country.

The company was also among a few that established REHAB – the Real Estate Housing Association of Bangladesh, making them pioneers in the industry. They’ve completed hundreds of apartment projects in the last three decades, out of which 13 were completed in 2017.

The head office of the company is based in Dhaka, but they also have an additional office in Chattogram. Property types include mostly apartments under different collections like luxury, classic, and standard apartments.

Most of their projects are small-scale projects containing 10-20 apartments on average. For now, they develop projects in two cities, namely Dhaka and Chattogram. BTI has won several awards in the last few years and achieved an ISO 9001-2008 certification.

In addition to property development, they offer other real estate services like interior design, property rentals, corporate services, and contractors.

On average, BTI develops more than a dozen new projects a year, mostly apartment buildings. Some of their recent projects are listed below:

Concord Real Estate is one of the biggest real estate developers in the country that owns dozens of subsidiaries working in real estate and other industries. Some of their well-known companies are (in total they own 15 companies):

SM Kamaluddin is the current chairman of the Concord Group, and it’s one of the oldest real estate developers. They’ve operated for the last four decades and have completed more than 1000 projects so far.

In addition to residential and commercial projects, you can find hundreds of infrastructure projects like airports, bridges, and some famous landmarks built under their name.

They’re known for developing Bangladesh’s largest amusement park, Fantasy Kingdom, and for their large-scale projects, like Lake City Concord which was also Bangladesh’s first satellite town.

Nakshi Homes Ltd., also known as NHL, is a leading real estate developer in Bangladesh. The company is currently headed by Salauddin Khan Uzzal, acting as managing director.

They develop both residential and commercial projects. Their residential projects include high or medium-rise apartment buildings, they’ve completed five projects so far, currently work on an additional four, and have three more planned for the future.

The head office of the company is based in Dhaka, where most of their projects are located, including surrounding areas.

They’ve developed a wide range of commercial and residential projects, mainly in Dhaka and Chittagong. Most of their projects are high and medium-rise apartment buildings, but they’ve completed several housing township projects and office buildings as well.

Navana has built more than a hundred projects, where nine are commercial projects and the rest are residential projects. Most of their projects are small-scale projects, consisting of 10 to 15 apartments.

Shanta Holdings Ltd. is a subsidiary of Shanta Group, one of the biggest conglomerates in Bangladesh. The company started in 1988 as a garment manufacturer and exporter, but soon expanded into other industries as well including real estate.

The managing director and founder of Shanta Holdings Limited is Mr. Khondoker Monir Uddin, who is known as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country. He’s also a founder and managing director of STS Group, working in the education and healthcare sector.

The company currently employs more than 200 employees and has completed over 25 residential projects and 4 commercial projects so far, while other projects are under construction.

Gaus Uddin Khan founded Assurance Developments Ltd. in 2003 as a residential and commercial real estate developer.

The head office of the company is based in Dhaka, all of their projects are also centered within Dhaka. So far, they’ve completed 25 residential apartment projects.

The company is a subsidiary of Assurance Omni Group, one of the biggest conglomerates in Bangladesh that’s worked in different industries for more than three decades. Assurance Omni Group currently owns the following companies:

Rangs Properties Ltd is another leading real estate developer in Bangladesh. The company was founded in 1996, within only two decades it became a well-known brand.

Rangs Properties Ltd is a subsidiary of a big conglomerate, Rangs Group, that was founded by Abdur Rauf Chowdary. The Group currently employs more than five thousand people, making them one of the biggest industrial conglomerates in the country.

The group owns several subsidiaries working in different sectors like real estate, shipping, automobile, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.

Notably, Rangs Group also owns RanksTel, the only private telecom company in Bangladesh.

Rangs properties is known for developing high-end luxury apartments and commercial spaces. They’ve also developed several mixed-use projects that include Rangs Taz Tower and Rangs Eskaton Tower Classic.

They’re mostly known for small-scale luxury apartment projects and have completed 18 residential apartment projects so far. In addition, they’ve developed six commercial buildings.

Sheltech is one of the biggest real estate developer in Bangladesh, having completed more than 150 residential projects. Almost all of their projects are apartment buildings, but they also sell land. Sheltech is an ISO-certified company with a total number of employees of around 3000.

Sheltech was founded in 1988 as a real estate developer, but expanded into other fields like construction and consultancy. They now own several subsidiaries, for example:
