You can find many real estate agencies that are managed by foreigners in Koh Samui, this is beneficial as they understand what regulations you need to cope with as a foreigner. You’ll also reduce a lot of hurdles with communication issues, as you speak the same language.
However, it’s not easy to find summarized information about the most popular agencies. Therefore, I’ve written this article where I present some of the biggest and most reputable agents.

1. Koh Samui Properties
Koh Samui Properties was established almost two decades ago and is one of the biggest and oldest real estate agencies in Koh Samui. What makes them unique is their diverse and multilingual staff, mostly expatriates.
The agency is headed by Harry B. Bonning, who is an expatriate and a British national working in Thailand. He has 40 years of experience in real estate and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor. Harry has lived in Thailand since 2001 and a deep knowledge of the local real estate market.
Before moving to Thailand and starting his own company, he worked as a General Manager of the Emirates Property Investment Company in the UAE.
Properties listed on their website include houses, luxury villas, apartments, land, resorts, commercial property, and residential rentals.
Koh Samui Properties help you search and find a property to buy or rent, both residential and commercial. In addition, they also help you with property management, legal services, and sales.

2. Real Samui Properties
Real Samui Properties (RSP) is a leading real estate agency, owned and operated by a team of expatriates and multilingual staff.
David Delhanty is the owner of Real Samui Properties, who’s also a British national and worked as an IT consultant in London before he moved to Thailand. He established Real Samui Properties 12 years ago.
The Sales Manager at Real Samui Properties is also a British national, Bobby Birt. The staff includes local Thai employees with a good knowledge of the local real estate market.
They have a versatile property portfolio that includes land, residential properties, houses, apartments, villas, and resorts. There are more than 200 properties listed on their website.
Their main focus is to develop and sell real estate in Koh Samui. But they also offer short and long term rentals of prime villas and apartments. They can also help you with the legal work and taxation.

3. Samui Property Locator
Samui Real Estate Locators Co. Ltd. is a major real estate agency and consultant on the island. The real estate agency was founded in 2008 and is also known as Samui Property Locator.
The company is owned by husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jepson, who are originally from the UK. Mr. John Jepson is also a qualified UK accountant.
They have an impressive property portfolio that includes commercial properties, residential properties, and land. You can find houses, apartments, and villas listed on their website.
At the moment I’m writing this article, there are around 200 properties listed on their website for sale, and around 6 villas for rental.
The company helps foreigners to search for properties, selling, renting, and leasing. You can also buy commercial properties and land.

4. Horizon Homes Samui
Horizon Homes is a well-known real estate company based in Koh Samui and was founded in 2007. It’s owned and managed by expatriates and has multilingual staff.
The managing director and co-founder of the company is William McClintock, who is a British national. He has 45 years of experience working with real estate in different countries, including the UK and Thailand act as director of The Guild of Professional Estate Agents, that represent 700 agents all over the world.
Alexander Armitage is the co-founder and currently work as a development manager, he’s originally from the UK and worked in the real estate industry for 2 years in his home country, before moving to Thailand in 2004.
Horizon Homes Samui has won a number of property awards in the last few years that include “Best Developer Koh Samui for 2017” by Dot Property Thailand.
Horizon Homes Samui helps you to find and invest in property in Koh Samui and other cities in Thailand. In addition, they are also a property developer and assist you in property development and construction.
The services offered by the Horizon Homes include property sale, lease, land sale, villa rentals, property development, construction, and assistance in property investments.

5. Company Vauban
Vauban Real Estate, or Vauban Group, is a leading real estate agency with six branch offices in different cities in Thailand, including Koh Samui.
The company was established in 2006 in Bangkok and later expanded to Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Phuket. They have a multilingual team of 40 real estate agents, that include English, Thai, German, French, and Chinese speaking staff.
The founder of the company is French national, Cyrille Hareux. Not only does he have a long experience in the real estate industry, he has also worked in the financial industry and was financial director at Jet Multimedia and financial controller at Valfond, before he decided to move to Thailand to start his own business.
Properties listed on their websites include residential houses, condominiums, apartments, and villas.
They offer services like sales and leasing, rentals, property management, and rental management.

6. Go Samui Villas
As the name reflects, Go Samui Villas is a specialist real estate company that deals only in villa sales and rentals in Koh Samui. Go Samui Villas is a subsidiary of a global company, Go Luxury Villas, that was established in 2012.
In addition to Go Samui Villas, the parent company also owns multiple subsidiaries in many other Southeast Asian countries, that include Go Fiji Villas, Go Phuket Villas, Go Bali Villas, and several more.
They deal only with villa rentals and villa sales. There are currently 250 villas available on their website for rentals.
The main service they offer is villa rentals, but they also offer villas for sales. They also offer catering services and arrange luxury weddings at the villas.

The Samui Property Center was founded in 2012 to assist locals and foreigners through the process of buying property in Koh Samui.
They mostly deal in residential properties and land, that include houses, apartments, and villas. There are around 140 residential properties currently listed on their website.
Services offered by Samui Property Centre include residential sales, land sales, development and construction, rentals, and commercial sales.

Century 21 Zazen Properties is a major real estate agency in Koh Samui Island. The agency is owned and managed by the expatriates and have multilingual staff. Their sales representatives also include expatriates from other countries as well as locals.
The managing director and co-founder is Mr. Patrick Balmer who is originally from Switzerland, he has lived on Koh Samui since 1993.
Alexander Andries is originally from Belgium and a co-founder and the managing director of the company. He is also the owner of Zazen Boutique & Spa.
They offer all kinds of residential properties like houses, apartments, condominiums, and villas.
The main service is property sales, but they offer additional services like leasing, marketing management, investment & land services, research & valuation, resale, and investment consultancy.

Conrad Properties Co. Ltd. is a popular real estate agency based in Koh Samui. It was founded by Conrad Krawczyk, a British National who worked for leading real estate agencies before moving to Thailand, including Knight Frank and Raimon Land PLC.
They have staff speaking both English, French and Thai.
You can find all types of properties listed on their website, including condos, apartments, villas, houses, and land.
The services offered by Conrad Properties include property sales, property rentals, villa rentals, and villa sales.

How much do I need to pay my agent in commission on Koh Samui?
Agents usually pocket 3% of the sales value in commission. Just making a comparison, in Hong Kong the commissions are 1%, in the Philippines 2-3% and in Cambodia 2-3%.
Which areas are interesting when buying property in Koh Samui?
Many foreigners decide to buy in the Northeastern part of Koh Samui, not surprisingly, property is more expensive on average here. The North coast is also becoming a preferred choice for developers and buyers, as they tend to look for new areas.
The West coast is quieter and not as popular as the above mentioned areas, but still a preferable choice for buyers who want to live in a quieter place.
