Can I rent out my property in Phuket?
It depends on the regulations set up by the management of the condo. Some condos allow foreigners to rent out their property, some don’t. Therefore, it’s important that you do your research before deciding to buy.
As the regulations are created and changed by the owners of the units (commonhold / strata-title building), you can sometimes have an influence on the regulations, if you get a majority on your side.
How is the demand for rentals in Phuket?
The demand is high all year around, which means you’re not tied to seasons, like in Spain.
Phuket is also a famous tourist destination for other Asian nationalities, especially Chinese, which drives up the demand.
Where should I buy in Phuket?
The Southwestern parts of Phuket have been most popular for sure, this is where most tourists and holiday spenders hang out. Some areas include:
Naturally, property prices are higher here as well, increasing the demand in other areas.
Buying in the Northern parts of Phuket
Previously a somewhat sleepy area, the Northern parts become increasingly popular. There a number of reasons for that:
- Developers have started to target the Northern parts as there’s much potentials and more vacant land
- Prices are lower
- The airport is located in the Northern parts which makes it much convenient living just a stone’s throw away, avoiding the +1 hour taxi ride needed if going elsewhere
Some areas in the Northern parts that you should have a look at are:
- Bang Tao
I hope you found this article and wish you good luck with your property purchase in Phuket!
