FAQ

Below I have included some commonly asked questions and my replies. If there’s anything else you wonder about, feel free to send us a message through the form or write a comment below.

How much do I need to pay my agent?

You normally need to pay a commission of 3%. Keep in mind that different taxes and fees are charged when buying, holding, and selling properties.

For more information about the taxes, I recommend you to read my separate article that explains how foreigners can buy real estate in Thailand.

Can a real estate agent help me to rent out my property?

Yes, the same agencies who helped you buying can often help to find tenants and manage the renting process.

You don’t necessarily need to be present in Thailand, but can let someone manage the tenants on behalf of you.

The agencies also have a good knowledge of the local regulations that apply to foreigners, which will minimize the risks for any problems later.
